The 2023 Givry 1er Cru Les Grands Prétans from Domaine Lucien Jacob is a white Premier Cru from the Côte Chalonnaise, made from Chardonnay. The Jacob family has farmed in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune since 1922, and today the estate is certified organic, working with indigenous yeasts and long cellar ageing. A rich yet fresh white that sits happily alongside better-known Côte de Beaune names.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Pale to medium gold.
Aromas: Ripe pear, yellow apple and citrus with white flowers, butter and light toasty spice.
Palate: Medium to full bodied, with generous fruit, a creamy texture, bright acidity and a long mineral finish.
