The 2022 Friedberg from Baron Longo is a Lagrein, South Tyrol’s signature red grape, from vines averaging about 30 years old across several single sites. The soils are rich in dolomitic limestone, and the wine ferments spontaneously in large oak barrels before ageing in oak. It shows an elegance that is unusual for the variety, with depth and freshness.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep purple‑red.
Aromas: Blackberry and mulberry with dark forest fruits and a hint of vanilla.
Palate: Fresh and expressive, with firm, well‑defined tannins, clear fruit and a slightly briny finish.
