The 2022 Etna Rosso from Cantine Calcagno is a vibrant and elegant expression of Sicily’s legendary volcanic terroir. Crafted from indigenous Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes grown on the mineral‑rich slopes of Mount Etna, this Etna Rosso showcases the region’s signature balance of bright fruit, refined structure, and persistent mineral character. It’s an excellent introduction to Etna’s unique style—both approachable in its youth and expressive of its storied landscape.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright ruby red with lively hues.
Aromas: Fresh wild cherry, blood orange, and red berry aromas are layered with subtle herbal spice and hints of volcanic minerality.
Palate: Light to medium‑bodied with bright acidity and refined tannins. Flavours of ripe cherry and plum are complemented by savoury spice and a distinct stony, mineral finish that reflects the volcanic soils of Etna.
