The 2021 Marchesale from Terre del Marchesato is the estate's Bolgheri Superiore, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Grown on iron-rich coastal clay and aged in French barriques, it pairs dark fruit with cool minty freshness and a long, structured finish. The 2021 growing season, with a dry summer and a harvest stretching into early October, favours a classic, composed style, and a few years of bottle age have added polish.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Ruby with violet reflections.
Aromas: Cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant with pepper, tobacco and cocoa, lifted by balsamic and mint notes.
Palate: Full-bodied and layered, with dense but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, savoury finish.
