The 2024 Bianco Rifunneri from Cantine Calcagno is a curious, compelling white made from Nerello Mascalese, Etna's great red grape, vinified as a white. Grown on the volcano's north slope by the Calcagno family, it trades the usual red-fruit profile for a pale, mineral and savoury style that reflects Etna's volcanic soils.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Pale straw
Aromas: Ripe orchard fruit and citrus peel with subtle herbal, floral and smoky-mineral notes.
Palate: Dry and textured, with fresh acidity, a savoury, mineral backbone and a long, clean finish.
