The 2024 Langhe Freisa from Francesco Rinaldi & Figli is a rare, characterful Piedmontese red made from Freisa, a grape that is a close relative of Nebbiolo. It comes from a small, rocky plot in La Morra, replanted in 2020, with sandstone and calcareous conglomerate soils. The grapes macerate briefly in stainless steel to keep the wine fresh, then rest for six months in 1,000‑litre Slavonian oak casks. Lively and aromatic, with the structure to match food.

Aromas: Fragrant, with rose, raspberry and wild strawberry.
Palate: Dry and full‑bodied, with a firm tannic backbone and bright, fresh fruit.
