The 2021 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico from Montefioralle is a Tuscan dessert wine made the traditional way: Malvasia and Trebbiano bunches are dried for 72 days, slowly fermented in small sealed barrels called caratelli and aged for three years. Made from organic grapes in minuscule quantities, it is a rich, amber-hued after-dinner treat.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep amber to burnt orange.
Aromas: Dried apricot, fig and raisin with honey, roasted nuts, caramel and warm spice.
Palate: Sweet, luscious and silky, balanced by lively acidity and a long, nutty finish.
