The 2019 Cozzarolo Merlot Riserva is a bold and sophisticated expression of Merlot from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a region renowned for producing elegant and structured red wines. Aged to perfection, this riserva highlights the depth, complexity, and smooth tannins that make Merlot an internationally celebrated varietal. What sets this wine apart is the meticulous process of drying the grapes for three weeks before pressing. This technique intensifies the aromas and flavours, creating a richer, more complex wine. Similar to the appassimento method used in Amarone. 

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Deep ruby red with garnet reflections.

Aromas: Ripe dark berries, black cherry, and plum, with layers of tobacco, vanilla, and dark chocolate.

Palate: Full-bodied with a velvety texture, well-integrated tannins, and a long, lingering finish. Rich flavours of blackberry, spice, and a touch of oak create a complex and balanced profile.
