Product Info
The 2021 Liebenstein from Baron Longo is a serious, age‑worthy Chardonnay from South Tyrol. It comes from 40‑year‑old, hand‑harvested vines on calcareous debris at about 400 metres. Fermentation is spontaneous in large wooden casks, followed by a year on the lees in steel and a short rest in bottle. Elegant, fresh and deep, with a cellaring life of around 15 years.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright, deep straw yellow.
Aromas: Ripe yellow stone fruit and citrus with pear and herbal notes, and hints of bread crust, nutmeg and a touch of smoke.
Palate: Silky and tense, with a precise fruit core, savoury notes, subtle vanilla creaminess and a long finish.
