The 2020 Etna Rosso “Feudo di Mezzo” from Cantine Calcagno offers a compelling portrait of Etna’s volcanic terroir through its expressive and layered personality. Made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio from the historic Feudo di Mezzo vineyard, this wine combines complexity and mineral vibrancy with refined structure, making it one of the standout contrada bottlings in Calcagno’s portfolio.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright ruby‑red with lively depth.
Aromas: Intense and complex notes of cherries and dark red fruit are framed by volcanic minerality, subtle spice, and earthy elements that evoke the rugged slopes of Etna.
Palate: Medium‑bodied with well‑integrated acidity and finely tuned tannins. Flavours of dark berries and savoury spice are underlined by chalky minerality, leading to a long, expressive finish.
