The 2020 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 'Escol' is the flagship red from San Lorenzo, an organic family estate in the Colline Teramane hills of Abruzzo. Made from older-vine Montepulciano and given extended ageing in oak before release, this Riserva is built for the table and the cellar, with concentrated dark fruit and the spice and polish that time in barrel brings.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep, dark ruby with garnet hints.
Aromas: Ripe black cherry and plum with spice, toasty oak, a touch of cocoa and warm savoury notes.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with dense dark fruit, firm yet polished tannins and a long, warming finish.
